Muppet Lessons

So here's the new piece of news in my life so far:

I GOT INTO VIRGINIA TECH!!!!! WHOOO!!!!!!!!

ok ... not that I was worried at all; it's just a relief, and it's been my top choice since I got rejected by Rice. Unless I find out I like Georgia Tech more when I go down to Atlanta this weekend I'll be going to VT. Another cool thing: Matt, Ju, and Chris all got in too. Jon will probably get in as well. So that's the possibility of four guys from Annapolis going to VT (although Ju is gonna defer for a year) ... how cool is that? Freakin' awesome I tell you.

Onto the discussion of my musics lessons ... yeah ... I definately don't do ANYTHING in my music lessons anymore. My teacher and I always end up having intellectual conversations: evolution/creationism (aka Intellectual Design; which was the topic for today), various subjects in politics (even though I'm pretty poorly versed in politics), hmmm ... we've talked about different kinds of trumpets and other trumpet geek/music geek stuff, school related stuff (education system), etc. I think I played for a total of maybe 1min. today out of 45 min. I was in the room. hahaha ... talk about a waste of time.

And finally: here're my plans for the summer that I have lined up so far ... tell me what you think:

1) Work at Capital Pets again, or possibly find somewhere else to work (maybe Trader Joe's?). Let me know if you guys have any ideas for me.
2) Take Fencing lessons at St. Johns. I want to join the fencing club at VT because it's something that sounds really interesting to me. So I figure I might as well get a head start.
3) Go Kyaking and Sailing with Paul and other various people.
4) Spend a day going into free movies at the theater. I'm thinking that it'd be a bit easier to steal into movies at the Harbor Center.
5) Work on Chris's car with him. I think we're going to turbo-charge his engine among other things.
6) The obvious one: hang out with various people. I'm not gonna sit around on my ass this summer like I've done the past couple summers.
7) Beach week ... enough said.

Prom

Prom. I'm not really too excited about the dance for prom, and only mildly excited about prom breakfast (dude ... major buffet ... what guy with an appetite WON'T be excited?). But honestly, is it really worth the effort for a date? The women all get the dresses they want, and the guys are stuck wearing shit that matches the dress, whether they like it or not. Ya know ... what the guys wear is just as much a matter of personal touch as what the girls wear. Even though we don't have as much variety in the forms our tuxes come in, we still (at least I do) take pride in the color and anything else we do to give it personal touches. Whatever though ... just let graduation come and go and I'll be happy.
